ITC Statement on Ebrahim Raisi’s Inauguration

The ITC declares, ”No to Raisi”, “No to the Islamic Republic”, and believe that Iranian people will not allow a “Judge Blood” to be their president for long.

Since the Islamic regime was established in 1979 and consolidated, the regime began executing, retribution, stoning, and started a war against Turks, Kurds and Azari in Kurdistan and Azerbaijan. To extend Iran revolution to Iraq, the regime imposed and continued war again Iraq for eight-years with devastating consequence, that is irreparable material lose, lives and spiritual damage.

In the first two decades of its rule, the Islamic regime carried mass execution of political prisoners, elites of the society, abducting and assassination of hundreds of dissidents inside and outside the country.

Khomeini issued a decree of inquisition, which was unprecedented at the end of the twentieth century, “members of family report on one another”, destroying family bounds. Khavaran, an unmarked graveyard, became a symbol of crime of the regime and a remembrance of our nation suffering. Also, the regime subdued the student movement using professional killers. Further, they shot dead many people demonstrating on the streets of cities in Iran during the January 2018 complaint against petrol rise and the November 2019 movement protesting for their human and civil rights.

Iran’s ecological system has also suffered much by the Islamic regime over the past four decades. The basic needs of Iranians, such as water, sanitation, and minimum living standard, have been denied. Poverty, humiliation, and misery has become the standard of living in Iran which directly focuses on the destruction of Iranians’ heritage. The way of life introduced and enforced by the regime since its establishment is threatening Iranian culture, heritage, history, and its remarkable civilization.

Since its establishment, the Islamic regime has lived by hostility against the western communities, the destruction of Israel has been the regime rhetoric. Establishing militia groups in neighbouring countries, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, the regime has influenced normal living of the people making the region very volatile and unstable.

The regime has spent billions of dollars on the promotion of political Islam by means of its strategic nuclear program. Political Islam does not recognise the UN human rights charters. Iran’s strategy to become a nuclear power has caused severe sanctions on Iran with devastating effects on Iran economy, people wellbeing and a complete isolation in the world. However, sanction has been a blessing providing the best platform for its mafia type economy, corruption, creation of an international drug trafficking network, money laundering perpetrated by and for IRGC and government.

Therefore, People of Iran, turned the “No to the Islamic Republic” and “Vote No” campaign into a major national referendum, with the active boycott of the ballot box, and by failing to participate, they issued a vote disqualifying the regime as well as President Ebrahim Raisi. The Iranian people do not accept a person as their president, who has been a member of the death penalty squad, a judge of numerous death sentences, including innocent young Navid Nakkari and Ruhollah Zam.

The Iran Transition Council (ITC) has recognised the national will and vigour to end the Islamic regime and promote the pro-democracy and freedom movement. We consider the presence of a murderous president an affront to the consciousness of the Iranian people and support the protests of the people and their advocacy movement that has been launched against his inauguration throughout Iran and other countries around the world.

The future belongs to the nation of Iran.
