We Stand Beside the Great Nation of Iran

Proclamation

The “Massacre” of the People in Iran by the Islamic Republic

The new wave of protests on 28 December 2025, which began in the Tehran Bazaar in response to the exponential rise in exchange rates and high prices, quickly spread to various districts of Tehran and other cities across Iran. The accumulated dissatisfaction beneath the surface of society erupted, and in less than ten days, led to the presence of millions of people in Iran’s major and minor cities. Once again, it echoed the Iranian nation’s desire to transition past the Islamic government to the world, drawing all eyes toward itself.

The rapid expansion of these protests, the magnificent courage and solidarity of the people, and the firm national resolve to end the disgraceful life of this medieval regime terrified the political security “think tanks” and the state apparatus of suppression. Consequently, they placed the planning and execution of a horrific crime on their agenda to ensure the government’s survival.

Following the call for street presence on Thursday, January 8, and Friday, January 9 (18-19 Dey), participation in this national uprising reached its peak. Global media reflected the image of a nation demanding an end to religious tyranny and the pursuit of freedom and human dignity. By cutting off the internet and all domestic and international communications, the Islamic Republic plunged Iran into absolute darkness to conduct its diabolical plan to massacre the Iranian people away from the eyes of the world.

The Apparatus of Suppression and Global Impact

After blocking all communication channels on the evening of Thursday, January 8, the Islamic Republic prepared the grounds for a “cover-up” and dispatched special units of the Quds Force alongside mercenaries of the suppression apparatus—armed with machine guns and weapons of war—into the streets to commit the most terrifying crime in its history. While the true dimensions of this tragedy are still emerging, various reports indicate a disaster that has shocked the world.

At the time of this statement, the reported toll includes approximately 20,000 dead and over 300,000 injured. The abduction of corpses, the delivery of “mercy shots” to the wounded, the charging of “bullet fees” to grieving families, widespread arrests of activists, the shutdown of digital channels for domestic newspapers, and the militarization of cities all transmit the image of a pre-planned coup by the state against its own citizens. The events are a clear instance of “Crimes Against Humanity” and a modern-day “Auschwitz” for Iranian citizens at the hands of their rulers.

A New Era of Political Struggle

Following this vile crime, the political landscape of our country will never be the same. Neither the people of Iran nor the international community can turn a blind eye to this atrocity. A new era of political struggle to dismantle the Islamic Republic has begun, placing new responsibilities on the democratic opposition and the Iranian diaspora. Standing with the people to seek justice and hold the regime accountable is now the primary duty.

The Iran Transition Council (ITC) demands the following from the international community:

  • Expulsion of Ambassadors: The immediate removal of Islamic Republic ambassadors from EU member states.
  • Recalling European Envoys: The immediate recall of all European ambassadors from Tehran.
  • Terrorist Designation: The inclusion of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on lists of terrorist organizations.
  • Intervention: Recognition of the “Responsibility to Protect” (R2P) to defend the lives of defenceless citizens.

Any normalization of relations with the Islamic Republic at this stage is an endorsement of the slaughter of the Iranian people.
