“Struggle And Debility of The Islamic Regime to Govern.”

The Ministry of Information:

  • in a circular reported, due to economic instability and the volatile currency situation, the whole country is in a state of severe turbulence and despair. The businesses and people are in awe of this situation, since last week prices of more than 40% of the household commodities has risen substantially, making it very difficult for people to buy their day-to-day household goods. It is predicted the situation will be much worse with the Nowruz festive impulse buying. The turbulence has been felt in 400 cities which could suddenly erupt, and massive number of people take to the streets.
  • in a confidential communique has warned the government about the increase of foreign intelligence operatives in the country. Government sensitive information has been leaked secretly by the military personnel to these agents. The reason for the leaked information has been stated to be in two folds, firstly due to ideological/political belief and the propensity of breaking away from the regime, and secondly due to the actual financial needs.
  • has received accurate information that many government directors/managers are preparing to leave the country. Among them are 144 military personnel who serve at very sensitive security positions. They have decided to leave the country, immigrate, and seek asylum overseas. Based on a thorough investigations, it is estimated these people intended to embezzle more than one and a half billion dollars from their institution’s financial resources.
  • due to the colossal problems facing the country and people, to divert attention, the ministry has decided to solicit cooperation of the pro-government screenwriters, film makers and film directors to make domestic family home videos, and continually publish them on the movie channel and movie streaming websites.
  • has expressed serious concern about the businessmen and shop owners that, due to the inability of people to buy, even from the subsidised food stores, 30% of businesses (Bazars) and store owners in Tehran will face bankruptcy in the first 6 months of the coming year.
  • in an urgent circular reported that, many issues for the supply of wheat, corn, rice, and items needed by livestock and poultry in the country, have led to the unemployment and closure of many bakeries, poultry farms, cattle farms, and lamb markets. The government has issued directives to import frozen meat, eggs and protein materials and has discussed the problems with the relevant merchants who have close relationship with the authorities. The decision will no doubt accelerate the process of bankruptcy in the country’s production industry.
  • has reported that they have installed intelligent face recognition cameras in 16 areas of Tehran including squares and cross-roads. These face recognition cameras have been purchased from China and are equipped with a sound recording and voice shooting system (remote listening).

The Government in a circular has announced, based on the last week’s decision on allowing the Dollar/Rials rate to fluctuate freely on the exchange market, it has been able to pay government employees and pensioners their salaries, in addition paying for their Norouz bonuses and arrears. The allotted budget however is not sufficient to cover for the Armed Forces personnel. Therefore, the Armed Forces’ personnel will face major financial difficulties during the Nowruz festive period.

The IRGC Cooperative Foundation and Eteka have announced due to the economic crisis the Armed Forces personnel have been purchasing their day-to-day needs, including items such as rice, oil, chicken, red meet on credit for sometimes and have not been able to pay back. Further, the personnel are requesting for even more credit to purchase foods to place before their families, promising to pay back and settle their account in the first two months of the coming new year. However, without the government financial support and security, further credit will not be forthcoming.

The IRGC also announced widespread and intense protests within the IRGC personnel for not being able to support people in the earthquake-stricken areas in Syria. Therefore, they have formed sit-in protests in their units!
