The Honorable Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine،
We, the undersigned Iranians, are writing to express our full support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, independence, and freedom of Ukraine. The Iranian people stand in solidarity with you and the people of Ukraine in this crucial and decisive moment in history. We strongly condemn Putin’s invasion of your beautiful and peaceful country to fulfill his nostalgia for a bygone empire. As with Russia’s invasion of Afghanistan, the invasion of Ukraine is a threat to the peace and security of all nations, including the Russian people. We call on the Islamic Republic to honor Iran’s obligations under the UN charter, defend Ukraine’s sovereignty, and condemn this act of aggression. We demand that instead of embracing Putin, Iran suspends its political and economic ties with Russia and join the free world in calling for the immediate cessation of hostilities and withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.
We recognize that the struggle for the future of a free and democratic Ukraine is a struggle for freedom and democracy everywhere and pray for the day when the representatives of a free and democratic Iran can lend our voice and vote for the noble and brave people of Ukraine. We know that you will prevail in this unjust, illegal, and immoral war and that all of humanity stands by you and your nation.
