Dear Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
An open letter
Islamic Republic of Iran poisoning Iranian girl students
Iran Transition Council (ITC), on behalf of the Iranian people everywhere, respectfully requests that the World Health Organization takes all the necessary measures to stop the Islamic Regime of Iran (IRI) to stop the colossal act of terrorism by using chemical agent in girl school across the county. The IRI has been denying involvement in poisoning students, however it has been revealed and recognized the terrorist act is not possible to be implemented by any individual or a group of terrorists.
It is more than 3 months that at least 300 girl schools in cities and villages of 31 of Iran’s provinces are being affected by this mysterious unexplained illness which so far more than 5000 students have been infected and the number is increasing, although a few have lost their lives.
Unfortunately, so far, the authorities have released very little information about their investigations, if any, and has announced no arrests. But, the IRI authorities have accused Iran’s “enemies” the suspected poisonings to undermine the clerical establishment. The claim cannot be possibly substantiated, what “enemies” are being referred to?
It is believed the girls’ schools are being targeted by hard-line elements to stop them receiving an education beyond girls’ puberty, such as being done by Taliban in Afghanistan. However, it is likely that the authorities may be punishing girls for their leading role in the nationwide revolution of “Women, Life, Freedom” erupted in September 2022.
Students have said they smelled tangerine or rotten fish before falling ill. Many have suffered respiratory problems, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. After the supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei announced the cause to be investigated, the Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei has warned that, those reporting the illness, could face the charge of “corruption on earth”, which is punishable by death. Ejei also said special courts would be set up in each province to summon “lie-spreaders and disrupters of public opinion in the case of the poisonings”.
The students are shouting: “We don’t want to die.” But authorities are warning them be silent or otherwise they would be charged as “corrupt on earth”. This peculiar terminology is used by the IRI Judiciary system to sentence people to death. There are many published videos to corroborate the illness is very serious.
On Saturday 4 March 2023, the Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said that investigators had gathered “suspicious samples” at affected schools but provided no details. Health Minister Bahram Eynollahi meanwhile told a conference on Tuesday7 March that research indicated that “a kind of mild poison caused the intoxication”.
It had been revealed “the results of 25 blood tests from poisoned students in different cities” the Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) number in all of them is lower than normal. The measures indicate shortage of oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body.
The real issue is that the authorities knowingly are not offering any useful measure to stop the poisoning and to bring the perpetrators to justice. And people of Iran and in particular girl students are left without any help and support. It has been also reported the family of the affected girls are threatened not to speak with media or they would be punished as stated above.
People of Iran need urgent attention from the WHO by providing them support by an expert medical team and facilities to examine to find out the type of chemical agent used on innocent girls in Iran and to offer solution to end their suffering.
The ITC, on behalf of the Iranian people requests that the World Health Organization acts urgently and help people of Iran in this desperate time to prevent further fatality.
Respectfully yours,
On behalf of the
Iran Transition Council
