The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB): “Less Than 11% Share of the Caspian Sea for Iran”

In the telecast “Hello Good Morning; (Salam, Sobh bekhir)”, which is broadcast every morning by the Third Channel of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the map of Iran, which is used as a décor for this program, Iran’s share of the Caspian Sea is highlighted in blue. What has attracted much attention is the blue line separating the other parts of the Caspian Sea, which clearly shows that Iran’s share of the Caspian Sea is less than eleven percent.

Placing Iran’s map along with highlighting Iran’s very low share of the Caspian Sea, as a décor of this morning’s program, is sometimes done as there were widespread protests last year over Iran’s decline in the Caspian Sea, and many, even some Parliamentarians had called it a new “Turkmanchai contract”. The protesters also accused Islamic Republic authorities, including Hassan Rouhani and Mohammad Javad Zarif, of concealing the matter.

In response to the protests, Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a television program, “Iran’s share of the Caspian Sea is neither 50% nor 11%.” He emphasized that Iran was “in the seabed and under the seabed” and “To use resources” owns a “20 percent” share.

The plan appears to be Iran’s small share of the Caspian Sea after repeated denies by the president and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic that apparently “under the new agreement between the Caspian countries is to be less than 11%” Gradually induce.

Putting this image as the décor of an official IRIB television broadcast certainly could not have taken place without the authorities’ permission. The decision to gradually bring about the reality of less than eleven percent of the Caspian Sea has been taken on the condition that the Iranian people are all waiting for a new spark to express their anger and protest against the lies of the Islamic Republic authorities.
